Went back to the "Portrait Club" 2.28.26 and it was a lot of fun. This time I wasn't the "new guy" as I got to meet three "first timers". I've been trying to embrace stepping out of my comfort zone and try new things, draw new things (or people) and meet new people. This club checks all of the boxes. Everyone is really nice and welcoming. I did 5 sketches while I was there but this the peak of my day with this 20 minute sketch of "Jake" our club leader.

I am excited to say that I am on the "active roster" of local artists on https://spokanearts.org/

According to their site: "The Spokane Arts artist roster is a searchable tool designed to showcase local creatives and connect them with community members seeking artists and makers."

It's an honor to be included among so many talented local creators. If you found me via the "SPKN ARTS" page then welcome. Take a look around and don't forget to view my Deviant Art page for even more of my art. Cheers.

I stepped out of my comfort zone last Saturday (2/14/26) and went to a local art gallery to participate in their bi-weekly event: "Heads-Up Portrait Club". The idea is to practice sketching "still life" when you sit directly across from other artists for mini 15-20 minute sessions. Then when the time is up you go talk to that artist you sketched and share your art. Everyone I got to meet was very nice and encouraging. I was surprised there was 40+ other artists there! The group leader said this was their largest turn out since the club was started last year. I did 5 sketches in the two hours and had a lot of fun getting to meet new people, see other art styles and mediums. I look forward to participating again in the near future. Here are a few of the sketches I did. Peace.
