I stepped out of my comfort zone last Saturday (2/14/26) and went to a local art gallery to participate in their bi-weekly event: "Heads-Up Portrait Club". The idea is to practice sketching "still life" when you sit directly across from other artists for mini 15-20 minute sessions. Then when the time is up you go talk to that artist you sketched and share your art. Everyone I got to meet was very nice and encouraging. I was surprised there was 40+ other artists there! The group leader said this was their largest turn out since the club was started last year. I did 5 sketches in the two hours and had a lot of fun getting to meet new people, see other art styles and mediums. I look forward to participating again in the near future. Here are a few of the sketches I did. Peace.
